How to Invite Your Clients to the Crypto Tax Calculator?
The Crypto Tax Calculator Accountant Suite is a powerful tool that allows Crypto Accountants to work with clients on importing, reconciling transactions, and generating reports for crypto taxes.
If you are an accountant looking to bring your clients onto the platform, this guide will walk you through every step of the process.
Key Points to Note Before You Invite
Accountant Access: To invite clients, you must have access to the Accountant Suite.
Only Accountants Can Invite: Currently, only accountants can invite clients onto the platform, not the other way around.
Jurisdiction Limitations: If you and your client are in different jurisdictions (e.g., you are using a US accountant portal, but your client has a CA account), you won’t be able to invite them.
Let’s discuss the steps!
Three Ways to Invite Your Client
CTC offers three easy options to invite clients. You can:
Send a personal invitation link: Share a unique link with your client so they can sign up and connect with you directly.
Add a client via their email address: Add their email to your account, and CTC will automatically send them an invitation.
Add a client now, invite later: Add the client to your account, and choose to send them an invitation whenever you’re ready.
Below, we will explore each of these methods in detail.
Step 1: Inviting Clients Using Your Personal Client Invitation Link
This option lets you send a unique link to each client for quick access to CTC.
Copy your personal client invitation link from your account.
Share the link with your client (via email or however you like).
When they click the link, they will be prompted to create a CTC account and will be automatically connected with you.
Step 2: Adding a Client with Their Email Address
Prefer to send an email invite? Here’s how to do it:
In your Accountant Suite, go to the client section and click "Add New Client."
Enter your client’s email address.
Once you hit “Add,” CTC will send an invitation email to your client. They’ll just need to click the link and sign up, and their account will be linked to yours.
Step 3: Add Now, Invite Later
If you are not quite ready to invite your client, you can add them to your client list and send the invite later.
Add the client’s details in your Accountant Suite.
When you are ready, go to your client list and select the option to invite them.
They will receive an email with the invitation, just as in the previous method.
How Your Client Accepts the Invitation?
For Clients Without an Account
Personal Invitation Link: When they click your link, they will be prompted to sign up for CTC and will automatically be linked to your account.
Email Invite: When they receive the email invitation and click the link, they will be guided to sign up, and their data will be shared with you upon registration.
For Clients Who Already Have an Account
Personal Invitation Link: When they log into CTC and click your link, they’ll receive a pop-up message to confirm the invitation.
Email Invite: When they log into CTC, they’ll see a pop-up message asking them to accept the connection with you.
How to Understand the Invitation Statuses?
On the “Clients” page of your Accountant Suite, you can view each client’s invitation status in the Status column. Here are the possible statuses you might see:
Pending: The invitation has been sent but not yet accepted.
Accepted: The client has successfully accepted the invitation.
Rejected: The client declined the invitation.
Revoked: The invitation expired before the client responded.
Resend Available: The invitation was not accepted, but you have the option to resend it.
